Here I try to fill venues in Northern New Jersey with live music.
The most important thing is to be able to "commit" to the song. Light or heavy, where did the songwriter or interpreter take you? What was the attitude? That makes for a successful cover of a song.
At present, I am involved in several projects, all rock 'n roll from the 50's thru the 90's, playing throughout North Jersey. There is Pulse DK, the duo begun with DK&P member Ken Colgate in 1995 (Dave & Kenny). It was a rockin' duo (or trio with the addition of a drummer) featuring Peter Bremy, for the past ten years. There is also Electric Pulse, featuring Bobby Boom-Boom on drums; I am also doing solo work; and I am the host of a long running open mic that began at Jiggs's Corner in Butler and is currently stationed at the BLVD. Bar & Grill in Elmwood Park on Thursdays.
I have also been teaching guitar (classical thru rock) and bass for over thirty years. Location is a consideration as is availability, but feel free to contact me if I can be of help.
I would also like to give humble thanks to all who have supported live music over the years and all the people who have lent us an ear. Without interest in live music, there wouldn't be any! Hmm... that sounds like a Yogi Berra-ism. The list of people would fill up an entire website!
Hopefully, all this stuff will make people feel good.
